RPM have launched a new website. The new site is easy-to-use, it has a Make-Model search and is a nice upgrade over its reliable but dated predecessor. I really like the new look and quickly testing it out, it seems very functional. Great job by the team at RPM.

The new brass bulkheads from Team Associated for the B5 and B5M increase your weight and configuration possibilities. You can add weight to the front for more steering, or provide chassis balancing. The bulkheads are a direct-replacement and come in standard 25 degrees and 30 degrees of kick-up. The 30-degree bulkhead will increase corner-entry steering.

The RhinoForce S2 is the RC Short Course Truck Self Righting System, I posted RhinoForce S2: Assembly Part 1 the other day. Today I will take you through the second step in the assembly process, which is taking the completed RhinoForce S2 and mounting it onto your vehicles roll cage. The instructions for this are very well laid out, easy to understand and follow. Make sure your roll cage is securely mounted to the vehicle. This part of the process took me about 20 minutes, with most of the time taken to cut out the roof with the template.
** All of the instructions are available for download HERE Continue Reading
The RhinoForce S2 is the RC Short Course Truck Self Righting System, I posted my Initial Impressions the other day. Last night, I took some time to sit down and do the assembly of the RhinoForce S2. This will be a smooth process, If You Read the Directions Carefully and follow the diagrams. I will break down the steps in the assembly process based on the included instructions, which are also available to download from Torsional Concepts-Instructions. I will add my comments underneath each one in Italic.
The following tools will make full assembly easier:
Phillips Head Screwdriver(2), 1/4″, Nut Driver 7/16″ or Socket, Pliers, Flathead Screwdriver. Continue Reading
Back in February, we featured a post about an exciting new product that has the potential to change the way we use our RC Vehicles. When you put your Short Course Truck on its roof, the RhinoForce S2 eliminates the need to walk and flip it over. With the touch of a button on your transmitter, the RhinoForce S2 will flip it back on to its wheels. The RhinoForce S2, the RC SCT Self Righting system, is the first product to be released from Torsional Concepts and we were very fortunate to get our hands on an early release thanks to our friends at Torsional Concepts. I want to share my thoughts with you as I walk my way through this brand new and interesting product. At this point, I plan to write 3 posts over the next week about the RhinoForce S2, Initial Impressions, Assembly and a Product review. Continue Reading
RPM Oversized Front Spindle Blocks
RPM have released Oversized Front Spindle Blocks for the ECX Boost, Circuit 2wd, Ruckus 2wd & Torment 2wd. The Oversized Front Spindle Blocks feature a larger bearing size of 5x11mm (not included). The stock bearing size is 5x10mm and RPM state “One millimeter in diameter may not seem like much but that little change nearly doubles all load and fatigue ratings over the stock bearing size! That means better performance, longer life and more time between maintenance periods.”
RPM have built a rock solid reputation over the years, based on durable, reliable and flashy upgrades, so I have no problem believing their statement and if they turn out to be wrong, I would be shocked if they didn’t make good by it.
The RPM Oversized Front Spindle Blocks for the 2wd ECX Torment, Ruckus, Circuit & Boost will be available July 30, 2014 at a MSRP of $10.95 / pair. Part# 73292

I had a bunch of extra Traxxas parts sitting around, so I decided to order a Traxxas Slash 2wd LCG Chassis Kit and put together a new rig. I also was interested in comparing the Traxxas LCG which retails for around $32.00 and the Pro-Line Pro-2 LCG Performance Chassis which can be found for around $110. I used the Pro-Line Pro-2 LCG Performance Chassis in my Winter Build from 2013. Continue Reading
Team Losi Racing announce a new bell crank steering system for the TLR 22, 22 2.0, 22T, or 22SCT. The new system, which is already better than the old straight rack style, has reduced Ackermann geometry of the bellcrank steering making the vehicle less aggressive off-centre while adding better low speed steering at the same time. Look for a August release and a MSRP of $33.24 Part # TLR231037.

My most recent purchase from The Toyz has arrived, I picked up a servo for my Losi Micro SCT. I also wanted to try a couple of body clip options, the Rubber Pull Bent Body Clips and the Silicon Body Clip Leash, but what I was really after was the Hot Racing Carbon Fiber Graphite Battery Hold Down. The Hold Down is sold for the TLR 22 22T 22SCT line, and I have found that it also fits the Pro-Line Pro-2 LCG Chassis. I figured I would pick up another one and try it out on the Team Associated B4.2, because the stock Battery Hold Down is a bit of a pain. I prefer the Hot Racing Battery Hold compared to the JConcepts version, simply because I find the thumbs screws to be beefier and easier to work, although I do perfer the size of the JConcepts Hold Down itself. The Futaba 4PLS is my latest toy, I was out using it on the weekend and I wanted to give an early review. This transmitter is loaded with features, some of the basic features that drew my attention include:
– T-FHSS, FHSS and S-FHSS capable
– Digital trims
– 40 model memory
– Large 128 x 64 backlit LCD display with contrast adjustment
– User updatable software
– Steering wheel/trigger adjustment
The transmitter looks and feels well made. In fact, it survived a 4 foot fall to the ground, not a scratch. I read on forums, where some people find the steering wheel small, I didn’t find this to be a problem. If it is something that bothers you, it can easily be fixed by taking a foam wheel grip from an old transmitter and placing it over top of the current wheel foam. You can always replace the wheel all together. Initially the transmitter felt a little top heavy to me, that feeling quickly went away and I never noticed it again. By the end of the day, the transmitter felt great in my hand and very natural. Continue Reading
