I was looking for some big bore shocks for my Kyosho MP7.5 but didn’t want to spend $100. I came across GPM Racing shocks for the MP9 on sale for $14 Canadian a set from http://www.asiatees.com/ . I wasn’t sure about the fit to my MP7.5 but I took a chance since it was such a low price, to my surprise they showed up at my door in 9 days from China. The build quality looks to be really good so far and the anodizing looks great. I put the shocks on the MP7.5 using the supplied hardware and they fit, just fit, there is no room for any bigger of a shock. The springs seem a little stiff but I will make judgment on that when I drive it at the track. There also seems to be some miss information on the specs so I measured them and this is what I found them to be, I have not yet measure the internals.
- Shock Bodies 16mm. Threaded part 17mm.
- Shock Shafts 3.5mm
- Springs 1.6mm 6 turn front
- Springs 1.6mm 9 turn rear
- 120mm rear eye to eye
- 103mm front eye to eye
Next will be a track test later in the week for part 2 of my review. Here are a couple of pics of the buggy with the new shocks.
