Camber angles alter the handling qualities of your suspension and in particular, negative camber improves grip when cornering. If the bottom of the wheel is farther out than the top, it is called negative camber. I am sure by now, most of you have seen the RPM Camber Gauge. But do you know how to use it? This is a great video from darkeclipticheart‘s youtube channel, that will introduce you to the RPM Camber Gauge and show you how to use it.

I was looking for some big bore shocks for my Kyosho MP7.5 but didn’t want to spend $100. I came across GPM Racing shocks for the MP9 on sale for $14 Canadian a set from http://www.asiatees.com/ . I wasn’t sure about the fit to my MP7.5 but I took a chance since it was such a low price, to my surprise they showed up at my door in 9 days from China. The build quality looks to be really good so far and the anodizing looks great. I put the shocks on the MP7.5 using the supplied hardware and they fit, just fit, there is no room for any bigger of a shock. The springs seem a little stiff but I will make judgment on that when I drive it at the track. There also seems to be some miss information on the specs so I measured them and this is what I found them to be, I have not yet measure the internals.
- Shock Bodies 16mm. Threaded part 17mm.
- Shock Shafts 3.5mm
- Springs 1.6mm 6 turn front
- Springs 1.6mm 9 turn rear
- 120mm rear eye to eye
- 103mm front eye to eye
The RhinoForce S2 is the RC Short Course Truck Self Righting System, I posted RhinoForce S2: Assembly Part 1 the other day. Today I will take you through the second step in the assembly process, which is taking the completed RhinoForce S2 and mounting it onto your vehicles roll cage. The instructions for this are very well laid out, easy to understand and follow. Make sure your roll cage is securely mounted to the vehicle. This part of the process took me about 20 minutes, with most of the time taken to cut out the roof with the template.

Back in February, we featured a post about an exciting new product that has the potential to change the way we use our RC Vehicles. When you put your Short Course Truck on its roof, the RhinoForce S2 eliminates the need to walk and flip it over. With the touch of a button on your transmitter, the RhinoForce S2 will flip it back on to its wheels. The RhinoForce S2, the RC SCT Self Righting system, is the first product to be released from Torsional Concepts and we were very fortunate to get our hands on an early release thanks to our friends at Torsional Concepts. I want to share my thoughts with you as I walk my way through this brand new and interesting product. At this point, I plan to write 3 posts over the next week about the RhinoForce S2, Initial Impressions, Assembly and a Product review. Continue Reading

The Pro-Line 14RS Dakar Rally Clear Body, is her body of choice, she likes how the lines flow and that it is different from a truck. Her vehicle of choice is the versatile Traxxas Slash 4×4. This is a photo post of my wife’s second attempt at painting a RC body and her first time using an airbrush. She wasn’t happy with her first attempt, due to the paint not being pink and more of a fluorescent orange. Pink paint in a spray can is hard to find around here, so when I switched to using an airbrush, she immediately began thinking about mixing red and white to get her desired pink. I was impressed with the outcome and happy to know that I wouldn’t need to paint another body again. She will share her thoughts with you in each picture. Continue Reading
Each week the RC industry is busy making or breaking news and releasing so many different products in a effort to keep the hobby fresh and new. I believe that it is a full court press to drive my wife insane. How may times have I bought something to see an upgraded or better version released in the following weeks, don’t tell me she doesn’t suffer. One More Lap is a brief recap of some of the RC related happenings from this past week, that we didn’t feature for one reason or another. Lets take One More Lap and try and do a better job of hitting our marks.
Tamiya CR-01 gets an update: Introducing the Rock Socker.
Dusty Motors, who are the makers of a very popular universal shroud have announced that they will be including Shock Absorber Covers with all of the new Chassis Shrouds they sell. The Shock absorber cover is made from elastic material and comes in one long piece that you cut to your desired length, for a custom fit.
I have used a product like this in the past and it did an amazing job of keeping the dirt out. Dusty Motors have a solid reputation, I would be “Shocked” if their covers weren’t just as good if not better.
MIP has come up with and idea to help you identify your MIP wrenches at a glance. Their new color coated Wrench Wraps, go around the shank of the tool and then it is enclosed inside clear heat shrink. The Wraps come in both Metric and Standard and when applied, you will be able to quickly distinguish the size by the color. In addition to that, MIP says that each new wrench coming from MIP will include a new wrap and shrink for the necessary wrench sizes.
