The M.I.P. PRO8 Conversion Kit has been creating a lot of buzz and right fully so, the idea of being able to convert your 4WD short-course into a 1/8 scale buggy at a reasonable price is fantastic. Many people are anxiously looking forward to the first reviews. Chad Bradley, multiple world championship finalist and long-time 1/8-scale racer, who is now with A Main Hobbies Product Development, has released his thoughts on the M.I.P. PRO8 Conversion Kit after he did some testing at A Main Hobbies’ Outback Raceway.
The initial review looks pretty good, here is a small sample.
Chad Bradley said “The Pro8 is extremely fun to drive, and the power to weight ratio seemed perfect for indoor racing. Comparing a 4wd SC to the Pro8 Super Light eBuggy isn’t really a fair comparison. The benefits of using a buggy style body, 1/8-scale wing and tires with low profile sidewalls plays a huge effect on handling and gives the buggy an advantage.”

Matt has now released a video showing the conversion from beginning to end with some tips along the way.
The kit is available for pre-order now from Amainhobbies.com at a retail price of $99.99. It has a ETA of Nov 10, 2013.
M.I.P. have been working on making a PRO8 8 scale upgrade kit for the TLR SCTE 2.0 and they have updated their Facebook page with news that the molds are ready.
This is great news for those hoping to convert their TLR SCTE 2.0 into a 1/8 Buggy. But what I really like here was the picture of the molds. It is a neat behind the scenes look at the process, the detail that goes into making a quality part can be lost on the consumer who purchases the final product. Thank you to Matt at M.I.P. for sharing.
