I believe that it is a full court press to drive my wife insane. How may times have I bought something to see an upgraded or better version released in the following weeks, don’t tell me she doesn’t suffer. JConcepts have been busy this week coming up with ways for us to spend our money. They released a Carbon Fiber Front Shock Tower option for the Team Associated B4 line of vehicles. The Shock Tower is 4mm thick and there are 3 inner positions and 3 outer positions for quick and easy changes.

The Rips on Hazard Style Wheels
They have also produced Front/Rear Wheels and Tires for the RC10 Classic. The new tires, “The Rips” are high-traction tires made with the JConcepts sticky green (Super Soft) compound and include And-1 open cell inserts for increased support. JConcepts has added a new compound to their line of 1/10th off-road racing tires. The Black compound, was designed to produce the softest feel in the JConcepts line. The Mega Soft (Black Compound) is ideal for minimum traction and works well on slippery, wet tracks. The JConcepts line of tread patterns such as Bar Codes V1, Bar Codes V2, Double Dees, Pressure Points, Rips and 3Ds are available in a variety of different compounds to match your racing conditions.

JConcepts Carbon Fiber, Front Shock Tower. Part# 2290-1
JConcepts has released front and rear Carbon Fiber Shock Towers for the Traxxas Slash 4×4. The towers are 4mm thick and designed to increase durability and take the flex out of the shock towers and allow the shocks do their job properly. The kit also includes machined aluminum body mount adaptor (blue) and machined aluminum shock stand-offs (blue) as well as complete 3mm hardware and locknuts.

Hot Racing Carbon Fiber Graphite Battery Hold Down
Lets talk battery hold downs. The Battery Hold Down Velcro Straps on my Proline LCG and my TLR 22SCT were all stretched out and basically ineffective, so I went looking for a solution. The First Battery Hold Down system I got was from Hot Racing. I have been using it for a couple of months now and I couldn’t be happier. It was very easy to install, it feels and looks very sturdy and the thumbscrews are a good size which makes battery changes easier.
JConcepts Carbon Fiber Battery Brace
Happy to be done with the Velcro straps, I wanted another Battery Hold Down for my second truck and since I was doing an order for Amainhobbies, I decided just to get one from there and save myself some money on shipping. They didn’t have a Hot Racing Battery Hold Down, but they did have a JConcepts Battery Hold Down System, so I ordered it.
Both systems have the same thickness in the actual Carbon Fiber and were easy to install and do a great job of holding the battery in place. The difference is in the hardware. Continue Reading
