The Traxxas X-Maxx is a very big and very tough RC, simply put this thing is a beast. As people use the X-Maxx, it was found that some people were destroying Differential Gears. Traxxas listen to the consumer and have announced Machined Differential Gears. The gears are machined from hardened steel to add extra driveline strength. They are also spiral cut for extra shock load resistance. The new gears will slide right in with no modification required. MSRP is $45.00 for the rear, Part# 7778x and $45.00 for the front, Part# 7777x.
The parts are listed on the Traxxas site, but I am having a hard time find them in stores. I hope this isn’t another situation where Traxxas announces a new part and we get to wait upwards of a year before it is readily available.
One reason why I’ll stay with my Stampede. I’ve tortured it so much last year & never had gears or anything major break!
It is a tough rig itself.
I’ve hit a few thimgs that I thought would damage it, but it just said “MORE!” Can’t wait to see it with the upgrades.:)
When is she gonna be in your hands? Any idea yet?
Nephew told me he’ll get it Friday, but him saying it and doing that are two different things. Wish my wheelchair was street legal, I’d ride it to the hobby shop myself.:)
Lmao. Good Luck.
Soon as I get the beasts and a camera, I’ll get pics dude. Debating on asking advice from you on another rc topic.
Send us the pics. You can ask, I’ll do my best to answer. Just email us. I’ll check for it. Cheers Adrian
