If you are like us, you are looking for a way to time some laps around your local track. After the demise of the DirtChamp Design system, inexpensive lap timers have been hard to find. Zen-Racing, have come up with a personal system that works using Bluetooth. The Pocket Pit Lap counting system uses a line of sight infrared transponder to send a code to the track side receiver box. The receiver box connects to your iDevice using Bluetooth and will automatically count and time your laps using a real time stopwatch within the Pocket Pit app. You can listen to your lap times live as you race using headphones or through your devices speakers.
The Pocket Pit Lap Counting System can be found for £99.99 which is approx. $200 Cdn.

I like this system, it will be great for practice and if you and a few friends have it, you should be able to run races and know who clocked the fastest lap. I do wonder if they ever plan on taking it in the same direction as the DCD System by expanding this product to be compatible with other devices and adjusting the software to handle full races.
