Now that we have a track in place and there is some summer left, we want to remind you of a couple of the programs we offer and announce a new one. If you have any questions about one of our programs or are interested in participating contact us at SackvilleRC@eastlink.ca and put the program title in the subject line.
Try Before You Buy: This program is Free of Charge and is aimed at the person considering getting into the hobby. We have some vehicles you can try out at the RC Park, you can ask questions and get some advice on the best place for you to start. We have 1/10 SCT, 1/10Buggy, 1/8 Buggy and a Big Basher.
Powered by Pink: This program is also Free of Charge and was developed by Women for Women of all ages. If you’re an RC Widow, if you want to beat your father, brother or husband on the track, or maybe you just feel the need for speed. If that is the case, we are here for you! We have vehicles for you to try and offer one to one instruction where you can learn how to drive an RC Vehicle. We will also answer any questions you may have about the hobby.
Timed Sessions: This is still in the testing stages, but here is the low down. We want to be able to time the laps you take around the track using a lap timer. We would be using the DirtChamp Design system, since this is the only one we have at this time.
If we can get this together, there would be a fee associated with it and drivers would be required to reserve a spot in advance. Any money raised goes help cover the cost of maintenance at the Halifax RC Park and cover any damage to the timing system/transponders.
Some things to Know:
We are currently on pace to start Wednesday Aug 19, 2015 with a tentative start time of 6pm.
Sorry, the AMB Transponder is not compatible with the DirtChamp Design system.
Using the DirtChamp Design Transponder will require you to drill a small 13/64″ hole in one of your vehicles windows, so the transponder signal can be picked up by the DirtChamp receiver.
More details to follow soon.
