I knew I was headed to the Halifax RC Park yesterday to check on the condition of the new Track surface. The track won’t be ready for another day or two, but I wanted to RC, so I brought along my Axial Yeti XL and put it through the mud over on the Bashing side of the Halifax RC Park. This side of the park underwent some changes over the weekend as well. The big mound of dirt in the middle is gone and has been replace with 5 smaller jumps. This side should be pretty neat once it dries out. The drainage on this side has improved this year as well, but more work could be done in the future.
The Yeti XL loved the conditions and is a true “Mudder“. I came away with no broken parts, but I was covered in mud. After todays run I think I will pick up a sway bar kit for the Yeti XL, I couldn’t push it in the turns like I would have liked. The conditions were also a factor in the lack of handling, but the conditions also added to the fun. After you accidently spray mud on yourself 3 times, you no longer care……………. until it is time to get into the car and drive home.
