Today marks the 20th anniversary of the passing of Ayrton Senna, a person who is widely acknowledged as the greatest driver in Formula 1 history. McLaren, which is one of the teams he drove for have decided to pay tribute to him by posting a “Epic portrayal of Senna’s Monaco ’88 qualifying lap to commemorate the life and career of a legend” this lap is widely regarded as the best single lap in F1 history.
The weekend that Ayrton Senna died was such an ominous weekend with the very serious crash of Rubens Barrichello, that he somehow survived, then the crash that killed Roland Ratzenberger the next day. You would have thought the bad fortune was done, but then came the death of Ayrton Senna during the race. Making a terrible weekend worse.
Rest In Peace Ayrton Senna you are still missed by many and Thank you for the memories.
