Real FX Racing from Wow Stuff, reminds me of the slot car racing sets I had as a kid, but with an updated twist. It uses handsets, cars and a track, but the cars have artificial intelligence built-in and the track simply un-rolls instead of taking the time to click it together only to hear your mother say “You can’t set that up here.” Real FX Racing was announced last year, but recently made a splash at the 2014 New York Toy Fair and is now expected to find its place in the market.
Real FX Racing took seven years to develop, it can record lap times and has different difficulty settings. The cars can detect the track and steer by themselves. Some other features include virtual oil spills, distinctive engine noises, built-in lap timers and more. Simply unroll the track, add the cars and start racing. Look for Real FX Racing later this year, with a MSRP of around $199 USD.
