RC Transmitter cases can be pretty expensive, and I wanted an inexpensive and safe option for transporting my RC Transmitter when going to events. I looked around and came up with a few options;
I considered making one out of wood, but that would have been unnecessarily heavy.
I couldn’t find a small inexpensive tool box that would do the trick.
I didn’t have any old tool cases that I could have cut the interior out of and used the case. i.e. a drill case or socket set case. You could use a Dremel tool to cut out the interior and then you would be left with a useable case.
I then found an old cash box I had lying around the house and I decided to run with it.
The box measures 11″ x 7.5″ x 4″ and when it is lined with some cork tile, the TQI transmitter has very little room for movement. I put a divider in along the bottom to limit movement of the TQI and also create a safe space for my iPod and a package of batteries. This was very easy to make and only requires a cash box, some cork tile (I found at the Dollar Store), a glue gun, measuring tape and a sharp knife.
Another option that could be used for lining the box, is foam, get it from a craft store or the craft department of a big box store.
