I have put approximately 20 battery packs through my TLR 22SCT since installing the Exotek Steering Rack Conversion Kit. I run on a series of backyard tracks, with some of the conditions equivalent to that of a bashing pit. Hard Clay, Grass, Gravel, Sand and Water, that will give you and idea of my conditions.
Quality: The kit is made of Aluminum and because of that I have had no problems with durability. It is very strong and gets rid of a lot of the slop found in the stock system. I should mention that the slop in the stock system wasn’t the major problem with it. The stock system will start to bind, especially on dusty tracks.
Handling: The truck handles like a dream and after all of the battery packs I put through it, she still feels like brand new. I didn’t realize how much my stock steering system was binding up.
Value: The price at $69.95 to me seems a little steep, but you must consider the time you will save doing maintenance.
Final Thoughts: When I think everything over carefully, I am very pleased with my purchase. The aluminum dual bell crank setup from Exotek first and foremost does as advertised. As much as I love my TLR 22SCT, I feel this is how the steering system should have been delivered. The stock setup requires too much cleaning and maintenance in order to avoid binding. The Exotek instructions were excellent and the parts went together with no problems. Make no mistake about it, Exotek has delivered a quality piece, that returns your TLR 22 to its cornering glory. Although the price tag takes a little of my joy out of this product, I would have no problem buying another or recommending it to others.
Great Job and Great Product from Exotek.
